Getting Started

As I work very closely with only a limited number of hand-selected clients, it is important to me that we’re a great fit and would have an enjoyable and successful working relationship. Likewise, you will be best served by partnering with a Virtual Assistant who not only has the skills you need, but whose personality, values, and communication and work styles are compatible with your own.

The Interview Process

The Interview Process

I have a multi-step interview process designed to help us both learn enough about each other to make the best decision we can about whether we’d be a great fit in a long-term, collaborative business relationship. It takes an investment of time on both of our parts, but it is well worth discovering our fit upfront, rather than after having invested much more in time and resources after beginning to work together. We both have the opportunity to decide at any time during the process whether to continue. If we decide we are not a fit, that’s ok! You deserve to have the right support for your business. If we decide that we ARE a fit, all that I will have learned about you and your business during this process will only make me a better support partner to you once we begin working together!

Michelle’s process made all the difference to working together. She uses what she learns about you to cater to your unique needs and creates the back end processes to support continued success.

1. Assessment

The first step is a quick assessment in which you rate statements on a 1-5 scale. This helps me learn more about you and how you work.

2. Getting-to-Know-Each-Other Call

After I receive your completed assessment, we’ll schedule a getting-to-know-each-other call. In this 15-20 min. call, we will discuss anything but business. We may discuss our backgrounds, interests, or anything else that will help us get to know each other. Think of it as getting together for tea or coffee. Relating to each other on an individual and personal level is a key component to the success and enjoyment of our working relationship.

3. Business Discussion Call

Then, we’ll have a business discussion call. In this 60-90 min. call, we will talk about the nuts and bolts of your business, what is working well in your processes and what could be better, and how you would like a VA to support you. After learning about your business and needs, I’ll share how I envision partnering with you in accomplishing your goals and will explain how my business works.

4. Compatibility and Fit Assessment Call

Finally, we will have a compatibility and fit assessment call. In this 60-75 min. call, we will discuss our work styles, communication styles, expectations, and values, and discover if we are on the same page in those areas and what it might be like to work together.

Once we have completed this process and have decided to work together, I’ll send you my welcome packet and

our partnership will begin!
